I was in a store PBC today and the Charlotte area manager told me that Smartparts had closed their doors back in November. He said it was because they had so little return on their products because they were for sale dirt cheap. He also said it was sort of hush hush news.
He said they were in the middle of redoing their product line to a complete MILSIM base and no speedball stuff. He said they were working with new radical designs in their stuff. Their parent company had bought them back from the bank, if I heard right. He also said he can’t get in touch with Smartparts.

I can back up that story. My local paintball store had all the SP markers pulled off the walls and return to SP. That was an order for SP themselves. SP closed their doors January 1st of this year to "restructure." Also the banks right now own most of the stock and patents. This is all from a Smart Parts Rep.
I havn't heard anything about them buying back Smart Parts.
