Kent “X-man” Jones and I have been talking and planning this battle since before Fulda 2007, we never dreamed that Kent would be asked to Command the WARSAW PACT side so I know I can speak for him when I say it has been the greatest honor to serve along side you all against a tough NATO force.

Finally Thank to Kent “Xman” Jones……..I don’t know any other way to say it “Great Job!”
Pregame:
We arrived about 1600 on Friday check in the hotel and head for the field.
Once we make contact with our advance party and setup our campsite or rather our off field supply area.
Position – Commander 39th Guard/Dagger Force
Core Unit: 39th Guard/Dagger Force
Unit Makeup: Teams - Tango Alpha 2 and Boxer
Mission Tasking:
(1)Protect far left side of the field (To include Command Post located at Gotha/Bravo).
(2)Keep pressure on Frankfurt/SimCity and over take it should the opportunity arises.
Game On:
At game we broke off a five man squad to patrol the woods between Bravo and Luke they would return to us soon after, the rest of our unit simply held fast on the far left, we held our fire until the NATO troops got into our kill zone then we opened up in mass. We would do this until we got our movement order. We would move only after the nuclear strike that had already been lunched by WARSAW against Rex/Camp Lee had taken out the target.
Once Rex was cleared of troops we tried to push forward to the wood line but simply were not able to get there. They had a tank that was posted in that area and very good AT support that kept us at arms length during most of the day; this would accomplish our first goal to keep pressure on SimCity.
Otta would spend much of his day hitting Tanks and bunker from across the DMZ and he did a heck of a Job doing it!
Later on in the day we see a large group of NATO troops moving along with a box we call out for 9Delta (Dave Thompson) as we shift a bunch of our troops towards Luke to intersect them. Luckily our forces are able to stop them, cause it turns out to be what we expected it to be a portable nuclear device, which only 9Delta and his team can defuse and transport. We secure the area and help facilitate their extraction and return to our previous area and duties.
Next I’m order to move from Bravo to Duckett/Bad Hersfeld, to deliver a change of batteries to WereWolf, on my way back I here traffic that there is a mission card that needs to be delivered from Bravo to GreenMan up at Hamburger/Marberg. We are allowed to take on that mission as well. Once at Command, I find put he wants me to deliver the mission card to Hamburger hand it off to a Member of the Czech Para and take control of the base defense around Hamburg. So I’m off and running again stopping only to ask WereWolf what was the best route to take to make it to Hamburger. Once there I see the guyz have got a strong defense. I then move on to Apache/Limberg, I find GreenMan and his Paras holding it. We are now entering the final few minutes of the day game. I ask GreenMan and his guyz if they wouldn’t mind pushing to contact down toward Sim, which he and his guyz are happy to do. That left me unarmed and a member of TCO (Team Capital Offense) there at Apache. I ask him to hold this position/base while I recheck Hamburger and get some enforcement for this location. I check it, it’s still strong and move back to Apache and listen to a massive amount of gunfire going on in and around Sim. We end the day game with WARSAW putting a heavy amount of pressure on SimCity.
Night Game:
During the night game we simply pushed forward to Rex from Bravo and held that base until 2200 or so until we were order to take SimCity, which we did is fairly short order.
Day II (Sunday):
Position – Army Group East Commander
Core Units: 39th HQ, 172nd, 117th
Unit Make Up: Epic Unit/Recon 1 and Team: Boxer
Mission Tasking:
Hold/Protect SimCity and Rex
As expected SimCity would be hit hard through out the day, I ask MG who is now leading Boxer to control the Southeast corner of Sim nearest the tapline. GreenMan and his Paras are asked to set up in and around the city in defensive positions. EPIC is to move east to west through the wood between Sim and Rex to root out in NATO that maybe in there and end up at or near Alpha. All other units would fall under their normal core structures. Recon 1 would set Security at and around Rex and provide a beach head for Army Group West to enter the field, they would only be allowed to enter the every 15mins and then only in 50man groups.
Game On:
(01) Reports of contact around the Southern side of Sim, no contact at Rex, Bravo.
(02) We spread of defensive perimeter to include Bravo and to the edge of Alpha.
(03) Contact at Alpha.
(04) Epic reports contact in the woods south on Rex long route 1 and 2, their exact location unknown.
(05) Heavier contact at Sim.
(06) Epic requests reinforcement, they have been surrounded. Location still unknown, so we must send the rescue team down the same path so as not to get hit by friendly fire.
(07) Recon 1 is task with the rescues mission
(08) Team: Alpha Tango joins the rescue effort; they will clear the woods south of Rex as Recon 1 move in from the east.
(09) Epic report heavy contact on all sides and losing men.
(10) Request “Lurch, this is Runaway, need you to take a leap on faith stop shooting and goin to ground, I know it will be hard to do!”
(11) Tango Alpha pushes south, Recon 1 pushes east, shooting over the top of a prone Epic unit, “Rescues complete Command package in hand!”….Great Work guyz!
(12) SimCity still under heavy pressure.
(13) Base defender trading paint with NATO inside Alpha.
(14) Request Epic to push an attack against Alpha from the east ASAP, while Rex Base Defenders suppress targets inside Alpha.
(15) Epic, Recon1, Tango Alpha and Rex Base Defenders take Alpha.
(16) Sim falls, now under NATO control….”d**n it I have failed, I have allowed one on my base to fall!”
(17) We continue to try to regain control on Sim,
(18) Team: S.O.V.A. is task to go move covertly behind enemy lines and cut off the supply line to Sim.
(19) Request over Command net “Hamburger, is being hit, need enforcement!”
(20) Request GreenMan and his Czech Paras, move out to Hamburger double time to enforce at Hamburger.
(21) Team: S.O.V.A. has cut the off NATO supply point….Outstanding!
(22) We continue to but pressure on Sim and reinforce S.O.V.A. with MGB, Boxer and some more fresh bodies.
(23) 12-15mins from end game. We attack SimCity enforce, hitting it from the west, I ask MGB to break contact and shift his efforts to the southern side of SimCity “NOW!”
(24) During the final push to retake SimCity, I had the honor of being able to flip the flag on the base that I had lost earlier in the day, after clearing the city our Victorious General was able to walk back into to the city he had conquer …..Oh happy day!
End of Mission~
