Does anyone definitively know if a new E-grip with thumb selector will fit an A5? I'm under the impression that you CAN buy a new style grip but I can't confirm it.

Yes the new grip that is modeled after the X-7 grip will fit your A5. You will still have to ramp it up in order get to the mode you've selected.
