Some of you may be familiar with TangoAlpha2.com, the paintball news blog that sponsors us. I am the editor and chief smart ass for that, as well some articles in the various national magazines. We started the blog because we couldn't find an impartial source of all the fields, games, teams etc in the Charlotte area. And then sponsored the team because the local field I was playing at couldn't get a team together while I was still young enough to play in it.
To familiarize you with Team: Tango Alpha2...
I run herd on a great bunch of guys (and gal) and while nobody will confuse us with Navy SEALS, we don't exactly classify as 'sissy-merries' either. Are we the best out there? Hell No! But we have the most fun, and I think that's more important than winning or losing. (See also: 'Size doesn't count' and 'the check is in the mail!')
We are typically more stealth and strategy than "run and gun". We try to out think and outplay the OPFOR. (Notice I said "try".) We rely very heavily on comms and teamwork. Our average age is 32 with everything from a 15 yr old to my forty-cough!-something. High schooler to I.T. people to S.W.A.T team. We are an equal opportunity group of smart mouths. We focus on having fun and making it fun for everyone. Rarely do you not hear us make jokes, sing or talk trash in the middle of a firefight. We take the game, but not ourselves seriously. We don't have room on the team for big egos (attitudes, not the marker!)
Our secondary goal is to grow up and be Team Boxer someday. But that whole "growing up" thing is a problem for me. Our primary goal is to be Radio City Rockettes, but they've informed us that they don't wear multicam! (Hey! boys can dream can't they?!)
We have played with and against most of the Charlotte/NC area teams at one point or another in the last year or so and hopefully most of them are still talking to us.
You can learn more about us at our web site, TeamTangoAlpha.com, or chat with us on our forum at teamtango.proboards80.com/index.cgi
