Thanks
First of all let me thank everyone for coming out (BamBam, YellowJacket, SonicX, MG, Seoul, Midnite, Spartan, Yunk, Tracy, Whitney, Coby, Xman, Angela, Keg and anyone else I may have missed), Special thanks to SmokinJoe for let us use his place again and congratulations on the new grandbaby (course I next Jessica and Brent had a lot to do with that, lol). Big time congrats to Knight on his promotion and “Happy belated birthday”

Mission one: The day for me started for me on Friday, I wanted to go Joe’s place to send the night, but I had a little running around to do, so I opted out. Later I got the call from Joe the baby’s on the way, with the instructions do a few things once I arrived. No biggie I love him anyway, lol. So at first light I packed up the dogs (Tanjah and Blu). Got Joe’s place washed a few dishes, moved a couple of boxes, took care of the dogs (now joined by Harley) and got my gear ready. The games finally got going about 12:oo or so, missions would revolved around a down pilot. BamBam was tasked to lead myself and band of young shooter into the field to located the AirForce Captain Daniel Schnieder. Once found we were to hold the location and guard against any forces trying to retrieve or extract the pilot. On the flipside MG’s team was tasked to do the opposite, locate the pilot secure the area, treat his wounds and extract. We moved out and BamBam brought us all online to perform the search, nice move since we were not expected to have any contact to our front. Intel tells us that the recue team would approach from our rear. After a short time Midnite located Capt. Schnieder. BamBam deployed us into our fighting position. Since I was armed with crew-serve (Double trouble A-5), I was placed in an elevated position over looking the pilot, on the far side of expected contact. This position, along with the rate of fire and range of the weapon I was carrying would give me complete field domination over the area (as long as I wasn’t approached from the rear), we had one shooter to the left front of the pilot, one behind and slightly left of pilot, one to the right and slightly to his rear with BamBam on the left tapline and forward to us all getting eyes on OP4. I hear shot being fired from BamBam position and soon see him falling back. I soon see a target in my zone and I engage at max range. He returns fire and “boy oh boy” could that marker throw paint, I was covered with paint splatter. I figure if I could get my weapon from behind cover I could suppress his weapon. So I redeployed myself about two trees backward once there I used my weapon to keep him at bay. And even eventually got a hit on him. BamBam and the other guys got the rest of them. Score one win for BamBam.
Mission two: Roles reversed, it now our turn to locate and extract the pilot. BamBam moves us out in a “V” and I was placed far right point. I come in contact with a Tango (Enemy Soldier), and exchange fire him I look over to the right and see another Tango
I have BamBam to my right and Keg and few friendlies to my rear. I point out the 1st target to BamBam and ask him to but fire on the target as I push on him. I start taking fire from my left, dang a third Tango. I quickly take cover and ask Keg to shield me against Tango 3, Tango 2 is knocked off not sure how, but great. I give chance to Tango 3 so has fallen back, while BamBam knocks off Tango 1. I soon get a call from BamBam that they have found the pilot and to move back toward him. I bite my bottom lip because it takes everything I have to break contact and move to extract. I move toward pilot and find BamBam searching him for his medkit (man you had to be there, too funny, people ask very different when their trying to perform simple tasks with the stress of combat all around them). They get the pilot ready for travel, while the rest of us set security. The Pilot is extracted successfully. Score another one for BamBam.
We break for lunch: Thanks to everyone who helped out with that!
Mission Three: Role Flipped again. Yellowjacket is now in charge of MG’s element. This time BamBam is not with us, leaving three shooters and myself. This time we don’t even look for the pilot we just setup an ambush one side of the field. I start out on the opposite side and forward to get eyes on targets. Once I made contact I fell back and rejoined my element. I get shot out during a failed assault, so I stay and watch the action. OP4 soon finds the pilot, but this time they must also find a rocket launcher as well plus equip it with air and pop off a shot (simulate popping off a recue flare), treat the pilot wounds and then move the extract. (Again you have to see how people act when they have to search for things and perform tasks, when there’s shooting going on! And hear some of the things the say!)
Wrap up: It was a great day for paintball, nice weather, great people and I had a great time.
